Kitchen Essential
Very happy with Le Creuset casr iron French oven. Versatile, cooks evenly, no need to constantly watch pot. Browns items well without burning. Can go from stove to oven to serving to fridge. Very satisfied with purchase. Highly recommend.
Exceeds even high expectations
The main thing I have to add about this beautiful piece is that it changes not just the outcomes of your cooking, but the actual cooking expeience. I’ve made soup, risotto, and veggies in the week I’ve had it, and it is a true pleasure to use. So much so, that I went and bought a 3 1/2 quart and a skillet (which was used to cook amazing seared tuna).

I already own two 6 quart cast-iron dutch ovens but I wanted a larger one. One of my cast-irons pots is a 100+ year old antique and one is new at $30.
I wanted (this was a luxury purchase) a larger dutch oven and something that would be a bit more attractive than the fairly ugly black cast-iron pot sitting on the stove.
What are the differences between an inexpensive non-enameled cast-iron dutch oven and the enameled Le Creuset that cost 10 times as much?
1. The Le Creuset requires no seasoning. A big initial time saver.
2. Easy to clean. When a non-oily stew boiled over in the oven (and baked on), the exterior cleaned up in seconds with a plastic brush. I was very surprised. I thought this was going to cost me hours in clean up time.
3. It’s attractive. Due to limited storage, I leave it on the stove and it brightens up the room.
4. The Le Creuset is enameled. Even though it’s fired at a much higher temperature than what other manufacturers use, it will eventually chip.
1. The cast-iron pots require a lot of work to get them properly seasoned and now it cleans as easily as Teflon. Many people can’t properly season cast-iron cookware which is why you often see cast-iron cookware at garage sales selling for pennies on the dollar.
2. While a cast-iron dutch oven would fit right at home on a cast-iron stove (which we had for quite a few years), it’s incongruous on a modern stove.
3. The cast-iron dutch oven has no enamel — it can never chip. One of my cast-iron dutch ovens is over 100 years old and will be in the same exact condition in the next hundred years. Will a Le Creuset be able to stand that test of time?
Once properly seasoned, the $30 (or even much less expensive) cast dutch oven performs just as well as the Le Creuset. We simply *wanted* a 7.5 quart enameled Le Creuset and we’re satisfied with the product but it doesn’t cook any better or worse than my other non-enameled cast iron cookware that costs 1/10th as much. In my particular case, both clean equally easily (but it was a nasty, bear of a job to get the cast-iron dutch oven nicely seasoned).
If I were to buy any additional enameled cookware, I would want the enamel to be fired at the much higher temperatures that Le Creuset uses. In other words, I wouldn’t buy cheaper, inferior enamel cookware which is much more likely to chip or the cookware crack in half.
Update May 28, 10: It’s not in the Amazon listing, but there’s a 9 quart and a 11 1/4 quart pot by Le Creuset. Had I known that I wouldn’t have bought this size pot. I wanted a larger pot so that I can make enough for left-overs. I bought the 11 1/4 quart pot from W&S. It’s huge, heavy and expensive but I can now freeze the left-overs for easy quick meals. Since the preparation for the meals takes as much time for a small pot or a giant pot, I can save some time.
You want one of these!!!
I friggin’ love this thing! My food always tastes incredible (especially things like soups). I’m a little paranoid about cooking with Teflon, so I basically use this pot and Lodge cast-iron skillets for everything. If you get this pot buy Alice Water’s “The Art of Simple Food.” The pair makes for a great wedding present, too.

Question about using on a camp stove
I have wanted to buy an All-American for quite some time. Due to having a glass top stove I have been limping by with a 16 qt. presto for a while. Recently I bought a Camp Chef camp stove for outdoor canning and love it. I want to upgrade now and buy this 30 qt. canner All-American to boost my productivity. Amazon reports the shipping weight to be 28 pounds so filled this will be quite a bit of weight. Has anyone used this canner with the above mentioned camp stove? I want to know this canner will heat up correctly and if the stove will handle the weight of a filled canner.

I had an old one for years and still works fine, just wanted a large canner – holds 14 quarts, does twice the work and the slim bottom design allows me to use my old canner and my new one at the same time on my stove. Fantastic product, I had borrowed a smaller model from and friend and really liked the set up. I went bigger so I could double up on the Quart bottles. I love that it has a metal to metal seal and NO rubber gasket. Highly recommended.
Get one while your fiat currency can still buy something.
I can confirm what others have written here. This is a classic design, unlikely to be superceded. Unlike pressure cookers that require rubber gaskets to make the seal, this canner will not wind up in your garbage any time soon.
You might be interested to know that some governments have outlawed such large canners for home use. If you would like to help ensure your family’s survival in hard times your grandchildren might thank you for the investment.

universal mount reeview…..good 4 the right person
the title says it all…..to be frank there is little to nothing wrong with this product…the only issue i can think if is that it might be a little outsated based on the user. the style is now to have something in a cabinate form where this is open. u purchase this and you are given 3 ways to mount your tv…thats a very good thing, as well as the ability to change the overall aperance with the included color slabs…so like i said…it all depends on your personal style..
Flat Screen Stand
I was pleased with the product and the instructions. There was some minor shipping damage. The stand was missing the glass bumpers, but I was able to purchase these from a local hardware store for a few dollars. I used the stand mount, which I would I plan to anchor to the wall. The 52″ set I mounted on the stand is not real stable, so I would suggest the anchor method for this application.
excellent tv stand
This is an excellent tv stand, well built, easy to assemble and it looks great in my livingroom, the black gloss and optional front panels, which are included, gives my livingroom an excellent look. When tv is mounted, it swivel with ease. I had a little trouble when mounting my tv, because I had to lift the tv myself. When mounting your tv ,if you buy this tv stand, you might need another person to lift. Overall assembly is simple. I’m very satisfied with this product.
Good Looking Stand
Looks very nice when assembled, instructions are fair I used the pictures when in doubt. Unpack carefully as to not scratch finish and be prepared for Styrofoam mess all over the assembly area. I paid 233.33 from Amazon so look for that price point. The box is heavy to move (101 Lbs) but one person can put it together in 30-45 min. Check for all hardware first off because returning this beast in original packaging would be hard.
Awesome
This was a awesome product for the money. It was shipped and delivered in 3 days. Setup was a breeze and it feels very solid when its completed. Lots of options for use. I have it on the pole and the cable management system is fantastic. You can also set the tv on the top shelf or m,ount directly to the wall. It is absolutely what I wanted and the price is great. A+++++

NO RETURN POLICY
AFTER CONTACTING THE SELLER THEY MADE EXCUSES AS TO THE PROBLEM, then said basically no returns!!!!!
Less than pleased
I ordered the portable Far Infrared Heater Model DR-968 on 2-22-10. I received the heater in a timely manner. I began using the heater the day it was received. The heater only worked two (2) days. My attempts to get a replacement were not answered until I sent an e-mail through Amazon.com. I then received an e-mail from the company stating a replacement was being shipped out that very day. Waited a week and still no replacement heater. Sent another e-mail only to be told my replacement heater had not been sent. There had been a mix-up and the paper work had gotten misplaced. However, my replacement heater would be sent out that day or latest the next. I just received my replacement heater (3-31-10). I check it and for now it is working. Hope this heater will not stop after a couple of days. It is my opinion, had it not been for one of my e-mails going thur Amazon.com I would still be waiting on a replacement heater. Horrible all the way around.
Ok, I order the heater and they ship a used (obviously returned) unit out to me. I contact them about this and they give me the run around and keep asking if the unit is damaged. I ask why the unit was returned, they don’t answer. I ask them to CC Amazon on the emails they are sending, they don’t. They offer me $30 to keep the used unit, I say no, just send me a shipping label to send it back for a refund. They say “we don’t send out shipping labels.” I contact Amazon and ask them to step in. They send me a shipping label. I tried out the unit and it didn’t heat even half of the square footage it promised. What a disaster.
Should have bought two
After buying the first one and setting it up in my house I was able to shut down three of my floor heaters in my house. This heater works great. My electric bill has gone down due to it and it was used during the month of February that got the most snow on the books so it ran every day.
Good but not great
I purchased the Doctor Heater hoping to cut down on my oil heating bill. It does throw out nice heat, however there is no way it will heat up 1000 square feet. I have it in a living room approximately 12 x 24 feet and when set to heat to 70 degrees it runds constantly and has yet to raise the room temp. to 70. The living room does open up to a hallway and also the dining room. I do think if the room were closed off as a seperate room, it would heat it nicely.
I also figured out after several times of turning it off with the remote and later finding it back on again, that 3 different remotes , all for the T.V. , cable box and surround sound, also turn on the heater when used. This is kind of annoying.

Wonderful and the perfect color
I have been mixing things by hand and making breads by hands–I herniated some discs in my neck and then that was not so easy the solution this mixer…and I love pink..and a portion of the proceeds go to research breast cancer and find a cure.

No longer worth buying
I bought a new pink 5 quart in 2004 for my 23 year old daughter. She used the machine for cookies 12 times. The mixer is now in for repair for the second time. None of repair cost was under warrenty. Kitchen-Aid not what it used to be.
